Hello Linux Renaissancers!

While I’m not too new to the community anymore, I will go ahead and introduce myself anyway.

My name is Tommy, obviously! I made the switch to Linux from Windows back on May 31st, 2024 and haven’t looked back since. I started on Fedora, but I’ve distrohopped a bit to try some of the other bases out such as Debian and Arch. Typically now I seem to bounce between RHEL and Arch, which is an odd combination, but I like to lean towards more community based distros these days as much as I can. But I do not have a single desire to go back to Windows as I love my life on Linux. I even have several different documents made up so that I can literally automate a lot of post-clean installs, it truly helps simplify and make life easier when you first set up a new installation. I have so much packaged up and backed up so that a lot of stuff just needs to be copied back over to have it set up just the way I want it to be.

Other than that, there’s not a whole lot of other interesting things about me. I’m a pretty big Legend of Zelda fan and I’m trying to play through all the games, especially the older ones. I also play the ocarina, but I’m not super great at it, but I can play a few of my favorite songs on it. But I do love being a loyal friend to people and helping bring a smile to their face. I’m a bit of a jokester and will even make jokes at my own expense, just to see others laugh.

Glad to be a part of the community! I actually miss forums as they were just better than today’s social media, so it’s nice to be part of a growing Linux community where I can share what I know with others and hopefully learn more myself. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :ghost:

Hi :waving_hand:, my very first was Debian 10, Buster and Debian installer really has 'till this day a solid thumbs-up :+1:t3: from me. Thank you to every unnamed tinker& enthusiast that gave with love  every bit of info they share and are still sharing that, after about 23 moon cycles or so, made me a “power user” today. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Assalamualaikum :dove: (Qur’anic Arabic greeting)
